Palm River Villa - complete description
The great and luxurious villa Palm River is located in the village of Pererenan near Canggu about one kilometer (or 0.6 miles) from the beach (good for surfing). It is about 15 minutes to the popular Bali Nirvana Golf Course and the famous Tanah Lot Temple, 20 minutes to Seminyak/Legian with Bali's most trendy restaurants such as Warisan, Ku de Ta, La Luciola, etc, and 40 minutes to the international airport. Palm River Villa is a striking multifaceted structure that successfully integrates a series of waterways with landscaped grounds that slope down to a soft flowing river.
Palm River Villa Accommodation
The Palm River Villa consists of a main building with spacious open-air living and dining areas, a bar and the kitchen and an adjacent two story wing accommodation with the five guest bedrooms. Both buildings feature traditional thatched roofs and the bedroom wing is sorrounded by lotus ponds. Decorative stone carvings on many outside walls are illuminated with spotlights at night.From the parking area you step down a few steps to the spacious open-plan living and dining room. The modern furnishings in the large sitting area consist of comfortable day beds facing a huge sofa table, a bar with five bar stools, and a long wooden dining table seating up to 10 guests all under the high, cathedral-like thatched roof. Polished teakwood floors contrast nicely with natural stone steps leading to other parts of the villa and to the garden.
Bedrooms
All five bedrooms are air-conditioned and located in the double-storied wing on the left-hand side of the main building. 2 bedrooms (Master 1 and Master 2) are located upstairs while the other 3 bedrooms (2 DBl, 1 Twin) are located downstairs. The fact that the toilets are separated from the bathrooms, all sinks and bath tubs are terrazzo and the tubs set against beautiful hand-carved stone walls makes them quite unque.
Master One on the upper floor features a king-size 4-poster bed and an open balcony with deck chairs (big sofas) overlooking the swimming pool, lawn and rice field terraces across the river. There is a big screen flat TV with satellite channels, a stereo/CD system and a walk-in wardrobe with an electronic safe. The en-suite bathroom with double sinks, an free standing terrazzo bath tub and a changing room with small reading table.
Master Two is located next to the Master One. In the past this room was the TV Lounge. It is also now called White Room as it is dominated with white color. It features a king sized bed, an en-suited bathroom with a terrazzo bathtub, and his & her hand basin. A satellite flat TV is hung on the wall. This room has a view to east, to the lawn at the parking area (main entrance).
The bedrooms 1, 2, and 3 are located downstairs. Bedroom 1 and 3 features king sized bed while bedroom 2 features a twin single bed. All three ground-floor bedrooms have a small TV set (showing the movie or satellite program selected in the TV Lounge) hung on the wall, walk-in wardrobes and en-suite bathrooms. Only bedroom 3 (right below the Master One) features an oversize bath tub, a separate shower cabin and overlooks the garden and swimming pool. The two other bedrooms are slightly smaller, feature smaller separate shower cabin and look out to lotus ponds.
All bedrooms are air-conditioned and those on the ground floor have small TV sets. Satellite television with many international news, sports and movie channels, a DVD player and movie library.
Living & Dining Area
As mentioned above the main building is the living and dining area. This 'wantilan' open style structure has a high cathedral style roof, thatched roof, big sofas and rich of view to the ground (swimming pool and green lawn). The dining table is made of big oval glass table and set of 10 seats. Next to this table, there is a bar. To accommodate your needs, the villa is supported by a fully equipped kitchen which is operated by a good chef. Since all bedrooms feature a satellite TV, this living lounge is not equipped with TV.
Palm River Ground
The villa definitely has a large green lawn. The living/dining areas and some of the bedrooms overlook the 4,000 sq. meter (about one acre) garden which slopes gently down to the small river in the back of the property. You can find bananas, bamboo, traveler palms, coconut palms and sugar palms together with some stone statues and a small temple next to the river. The 25 meter/75 ft. free-form swimming pool is lined with green natural stone and features a shallow area for smaller kids, and a sunken bar.The lowest part of the property is ended with a fish pond surrounding by heliconia banana trees and bamboos. Within the fish pond there is a sunken bathtub where you can enjoy bathing on the nature under the open sky. At night a torch, next to this bathtub, will give more great sensation to this part. Just next to this fish pond, a traditional Balinese gazebo stands with many cushion and pillows where you can enjoy a massage or just to relax.
To get the most perfect of the holiday, you can also enjoy a Jacuzzi, an open style one, located within the garden, just some steps from the wooden staircase down from the Master One. This Jacuzzi is hidden and covered by a green Jempiring flowers.
Villa Palm River has a spacious green garden lawn on the north part of the property, on a side to next villa. This is a great place for kids to play ground without facing risk of the river. It is also a great place for a garden dinner party.
This great villa is well serviced by full staff including a villa manager, house maids, house boys, gardeners and security staff live nearby and on duty whenever needed. There is secure on-site parking for up to 6 cars.
